  • Objectives: Explain why data quality is critical to asset management; identify key information tracked for hardware devices; differentiate between asset, CI, and model records; explain how discovery, CMDB, and normalization work together.
  • Topics: Model records and asset records; bundled assets and pallet assets; Discovery, CMDB, and Normalization Data Services; hardware model normalization.
  • Labs: Lab 2.5.1 Manage hardware assets; Lab 2.7.1 Hardware model normalization; Lab 2.8.1 Asset and configuration item (CI) relationships.

Module 3: Practical Management

  • Objectives: Manage hardware assets and consumables across stockrooms; use automation to maintain trustworthy asset data; apply effective lifecycle processes for managing and retiring assets.
