Course Outline

In this hands-on Introduction to Artificial Intelligence course, we will introduce you to the key concepts in modern AI and discuss how they apply to you and your business. You will get “hands-on” with AI technologies and gain an appreciation of what is happening under the surface while discussing many of the challenges that are holding back the adoption of these tools.

Introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI) Benefits

  • In this course, you will learn how to:

    • Discover how artificial intelligence can assist businesses.
    • Learn how machine learning models enable quick, reliable, and uniform decision-making.
    • Explore the fascinating world of deep learning, where computers gain the ability to interpret images in novel ways.
    • Understand the limitations of AI and the risks associated with its adoption.

After completing the “Introduction to AI” course, you will have the confidence to discuss and evaluate AI solutions.

  • Prerequisites

    None.

Introduction to Artificial Intelligence Training Outline

Module 1: What is Artificial Intelligence?

In this module, we will define artificial intelligence, the different terms, and technologies available within AI, and discuss some of the constraints and limitations to those technologies.

Objectives:

  • What are the different terms that fall under Artificial Intelligence, and what do they mean to me?
  • How should we define “intelligence”?
  • What technology is available with AI?

Module 2: Machines that learn

How do machines make these fast, accurate, consistent decisions?

Objectives:

  • What is machine learning?
  • How can these technologies benefit an organization?
  • Best practices associated with machine learning
  • How can you tell if a machine-learning model is effective?

Module 3: Image recognition

Image recognition powers some of the most exciting (self-driving cars) and controversial (face recognition) uses of AI. In this module, we will see how neural networks can learn to classify complex images.

Objectives:

  • What are neural networks, and how do they differ from machine learning?
  • How can these technologies benefit an organization?
  • What happens when we teach a neural network how to recognize images?

Module 4: Chatbots and Generative AI

In this module, we will define Generative AI, the different applications within Generative AI, and discuss what Generative AI can do for a business now, and what can be expected down the road.

Objectives:

  • What is Generative AI?
  • Overview of the different AI applications
  • What can Generative AI do for a business now, and what is the potential?

Module 5: Protecting AI Systems

In this module, we discuss the dangers of AI and how to keep yourself, and your organization, safe while using these tools.

Objectives:

  • How do you secure Artificial Intelligence?
  • What are the risks of Artificial Intelligence?
  • Best practices for protecting your business, and your privacy

Module 6: AI, society, and ethics

What happens when we delegate decision-making to the machines?

Objectives:

  • What types of biases derive from AI systems, and how can we mitigate those?
  • How does a business ensure they are being ethical while using AI?
  • What impact does AI have on society, and how do you navigate these impacts in a business context?

Module 7: The future of AI

In this module, we sketch various AI-fueled scenarios and consider how likely they are to come to fruition.

Objectives:

  • What is the threat of AI on humanity, on our businesses?
  • What does the future of work and business look like?
